3Gnet has all the components required to deliver high-speed voice, SMS and data services to any 3G handset, with added flexibility to further control user and application access on the network.

Our 3Gnet software utilises Small Cell technology to provide a highly efficient mobile network and adheres to the latest Iuh specifications for Small Cell technology covering both indoor and outdoor applications.

Architecture

The 3Gnet software consists of the following modular components:

HNBGW (Home Node B Gateway)

The HNBGW is the aggregation point for one or more NodeBs to connect to a circuit and packet switched core network.

The HNBGW facilitates access control for subscribers and routes traffic from Home NodeB (NB) to the core network components - MSC and SGSN while managing user mobility. The HNBGW appears as a Radio Network Controller (RNC) to the core network.

Mobile Switching Centre (MSC)

The MSC’s main function is to manage and co-ordinate the set up of calls between 3G mobile users and PSTN users.

The MSC is a sophisticated switching engine that provides circuit-switched calling, mobility management and 3G service. This comprises voice, data and SMS services.

Home Location Register (HLR)

The HLR is the central store of home subscriber data including IMSI, MSISDN and services allowed. The HLR stores provisioned subscriber data and is used during registration of devices to the network.

Visitors Location Register (VLR)

The VLR stores data for registered subscribers and reflects active users on the network. Temporary users are allocated identities if not provisioned.

GPRS Support Nodes (SGSN/GGSN)

The SGSN and GGSN are used to provide data services to 3G devices connected to the network.

The SGSN manages PDP contexts and sessions where the GGSN aggregates traffic and connects to a local network for Internet traffic.

Short Message Services Centre (SMSC)

The SMSC provides service delivery of SMS between users on the local network and to remotely connected devices on the PSTN.

SIP

The SIP service communicates with an upstream PBX for calling between mobile and PBX extensions.

The SIP service is also used when the 3G software is connected to the hosted SiRRAN network for transport of inbound and outbound PSTN calls.

Capabilities

The configuration of the 3Gnet software is where the true differentiator resides. With complete control over who can access the network, administrators can specify individual user services.

SiRRAN provides distributed deployment models allowing for remote access points, local call routing and regional based routing and switching.

The 3Gnet supports full integration to the IP PBX over SIP allowing flexible dial plans and call routing, particularly useful for extension dialling from mobile devices.

3Gnet is managed through an easy to use webpage. The system is designed to require little or no knowledge of the technology in order to operate and manage commonly changed parameters.
